Dr Shirley Qiu is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Sustainable Environment Foundation Nepal (SEFNep) and an academic at the Faculty of Health at the University of Technology Sydney. With over a decade of combined clinical and academic experience, she has practised extensively as a clinician across different specialities.
Her core research expertise lies at the intersection of acute care, digital health, and health education. Dr. Qiu is particularly passionate about leveraging innovative technologies to support clinical decision-making, enhance learning, and improve patient care outcomes. She brings a robust foundation in research methodology to SEFNep, with highly specialised skills in both quantitative and qualitative approaches.
At SEFNep, Dr. Qiu provides crucial insights into how environmental shifts and climate shocks impact frontline clinical environments. Her strong quantitative expertise and background in digital health are vital to our mission of designing resilient, technology-driven health interventions for resource-limited and climate-affected communities in Nepal. Dr. Qiu plays a key role in designing rigorous, data-driven evaluations and strengthening SEFNep’s evidence-based research proposals to secure competitive international grant funding for sustainable health solutions.
