Sustainable Environment Foundation Nepal
The Sustainable Environment Foundation Nepal (SEFNep) is an independent research and policy institute. We study how climate and disaster risk is governed across Nepal’s federal, provincial and local governments, and how exposure, vulnerability and access to protection vary with disability, gender, caste, ethnicity, language, age, mobility and location. Our research is guided by our bounded discretion framework, which examines how the choices of decision-makers are constrained and enabled by structural conditions, institutions and shared ideas. Our aim is to produce rigorous evidence that public institutions, communities and development partners can use. We also bring together officials, researchers, civil society and organisations of the people most affected, so that evidence reaches those who make decisions and their questions shape our research.
